Sorry I haven't written anything more recently. The time is going by so fast. It's hard to believe I've been here for a month already.
Well, let me tell you about the onsen. An onsen, is a natural hot spring. I have not yet had the priveledge of going to an actual onsen, but I did go to a copy cat. The thing about it is it's not like any hot tub- you have to be naked for this one. 100% naked! Let me just say that was an experience. (For those of you who are concerned right now, they separate the men and women so no worries there! :) )
I entered the female changing room, proceeded to the shower room (weird)! Everyone is required to shower before entering, thank goodness! Then came the cool part! The hot tub is about 3 feet deep and there is an indoor/outdoor option. We chose the outdoor one and I immediately felt like I was in Eden! The pool was surrounded by a pond, so that the water between the two almost felt like one. Nearby was a large waterfall, natural trees, flowers- a complete oasis! It was so relaxing. We had the option of getting a massage afterwards as well. I will definitely make this a frequent activity! If anyone is thinking of coming to Japan, you seriously need to try this!
That's all for now - I'll write again this weekend.
